Change to Clinical Exam Fee - effective from 1 July 2025

The AMC is pleased to advise that from 1 July 2025, the fee for the AMC in-person Clinical exam will be reduced from $3,991 to $3,000 and the online Clinical exam from $4,391 to $3,400.

This decision reflects the AMC’s commitment to equity of access and continuous improvement in our assessment services, in line with our strategic objectives and feedback from candidates and key stakeholders.  This follows on from the decision to decrease the MCQ exam fee in 2024 and will help reduce the financial burden of assessments.  This is one of a number of initiatives that the AMC is doing to improve assessment pathways and support for international medical graduates.

International medical graduates play a critical role in the Australian medical workforce and make important contributions to the communities they serve. The AMC is committed to ensuring that we have timely and efficient systems in place so that international medical graduates can progress through assessment and ultimately practise medicine in Australia.

Key points:

• New fee effective date: In-person clinical exams on or after 1 July 2025 will be charged at the new rate of $3,000 and online clinical exams will be charged at the new rate of $3,400. 

• Refunds for candidates already booked in July – September 2025 clinical exams: The AMC Clinical team will be contacting candidates who have already paid the previous fee and are scheduled to sit the clinical exam between July and September 2025.  These candidates will receive an automatic refund of $991. No action is required on their part, unless the candidate’s credit card has expired in which case we will need to contact the candidate to provide new details. 

• Next release of clinical exam dates: The next release of exam dates will occur in end of July 2025, for exams held in October and November 2025. These will reflect the updated fee.

New location for AMC MCQ examinations in Pakistan

The AMC is pleased to announce that based on high demand, the Pearson VUE MCQ test centre in Pakistan will be open and available for scheduling from 9am AEST Friday 11 April 2025. This venue will be open in line with all MCQ sites for any future examinations.
